What's a weblog phenomenon anymore?
It's TrackBack. A feature that enhanced by MoveableType creator which gives us an ability to track/get the flow of information goes/in to our weblogs. It uses some kind of XML/RPC SOAP protocls that enabled weblog application (through independent protocol like HTTP GET) communicate each others, tell what's new and what's related inside two or more weblog. So, it's nice to figured out that our Web (the same World Wide Web thought by Tim Berners-Lee except it seem didn't work well and need a long time awaiting until weblog generation came) was really being connected now. We so loves it. So am I that I could participate in it.Nah, it's a good news that Blogroots (i still tried in two days and can't figured out how is it work, but i still in interest) just enabled new section called Blogpopuli. Paul Bausch, one of Blogroot's creators, writes, "We hope it becomes a central space for collecting news related to weblogs. Using TrackBack, any weblog author can contribute to the flow of weblog information by pinging our server when they post about weblogs." They've also put up a nicely compiled how-to for their users and a web form for non-MT users to ping.
So, if you're weblogging about weblogging, make sure to check out Blogpopuli. It is the future of our communication ways. For my sake, I was very proud if I could be there altogether to participate.
PS: For everyone who seem interested to weblogging todays, I prefer you should try/use MT first. Its features was amazing stories although it still free until now. This is the leading weblogging application I ever tried.
